Through its affiliate Felguera IHI, DF has recently won three contracts, each to execute an Oil & Gas project in Colombia, South Africa and Saudi Arabia, which enables the company to expand its international presence in this sector, going into new geographic areas and markets with a long oil tradition.
The contracts are with top-level clients, such as the Saudi Aramco, Ecopetrol and Vopak, and are worth around € 38 M.
In Colombia, DF will execute under a turnkey contract the project to expand the Coveñas hydrocarbon terminal, the country’s biggest. Signed with Ecopetrol, it covers executing a new fuel storage installation with total capacity of 134.000m3. The firm will develop all aspects of the plant expansion, including the engineering, procurement, civil engineering, connections with the existing plant and commissioning.
In Saudi Arabia a turnkey project has started its execution phase for the design, supply and construction of five LPG storage spheres with capacity of 12.000m3 for the refinery which Saudi Aramco has in Rabigh, located on the shores of the Red Sea.
This refinery’s second expansion phase will allow Saudi Aramco to extend production of a large number of chemical compounds which will feed the plant’s various refining processes and will also be used on different processes for the country’s petrochemical industry.
In South Africa, DF’s subsidiary will execute a turnkey project to design, supply and construct eight low sulphur vertical diesel storage tanks with capacity of 64.000m3 for VOPAK, one of the biggest hydrocarbon logistics operators in the world. The jobs will be carried out in the company’s terminal in the port of Durban and will enable it to use low and ultra-low sulphur diesel types.
These new contracts allow DF to expand its international presence in the Oil & Gas field in the fastest growing areas of a sector in which the Spanish company is currently developing projects in countries such as the US, Costa Rica, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Cyprus and Turkmenistan.
