Enerray forging ahead with Brazil’s largest solar PV plant

Just six months have passed since the start of the project and works on Brazil’s largest solar PV installation are already well advanced, exceeding all expectations. Enerray is in charge of the EPC and O&M for this solar PV plant, located in the city of Ituverava and works are moving apace with 31.893 poles already installed and a further 133,280 to do.

Enerray plans to complete the plant in seven months, an outstanding goal and a success for this Maccaderri Group company. Evidence of the progress has also been demonstrated by the fact that the first panels of its tracker structure were mounted on 23 June. The whole project involves a crew of 423 workers.

The 254 MWp solar PV plant, one of the largest in the world, is located in the State of Bahia, in north-eastern Brazil. With an estimated annual energy production of some 500 GWh, construction will be completed by 2017. The photovoltaic panels will feature single-axis trackers to allow the modules to change position during the day depending on the angle of the sun to maximise output.

This is the largest solar power plant in the country: Enerray, an entity 100% controlled by Seci Energia (Gruppo Industriale Maccaferri), through Enerray Usinas Fotovoltaicas, successfully won the Enel Green Power tender to construct this solar PV plant.

In addition to Ituverava, Enerray is going to undertake another project of more than 100 MWp, a sign of its clear commitment to the development of clean energy.
