Acciona Energía has selected Enertis, Spanish international company specialized in consulting, technical audit and engineering in the renewable energy sector, to carry out the quality control process of the PV modules of the El Romero Solar plant, located in Atacama Desert, in Chile. The project, which will be finished in mid-2017 will deploy more than 777.000 multi-crystalline silicon modules, which will be manufactured in China and will have a total capacity of 247 MWp.

Enertis will perform a full Quality Assurance service by providing specialized advice during the negotiation phase of the contract, factory inspections during the selection of materials, the manufacturing process, independent laboratory testing and preshipment verifications. The Quality Control of the modules will cover manufacturing of the modules, similar to other quality control processes already done for other clients in projects of significant size.

These Quality Control processes, increasingly demanded by the most sophisticated photovoltaic agents, are fundamental to minimize the risk and to optimize the production during the operation of the plant, since they assure the correct fulfillment of the panels’ quality standards, helping to maximize the return of the investment. In addition, the implementation of these controls allows to perform a full follow-up of the status of the modules at each stage of the project, clearly defining the responsibilities of every party involved in the construction process – manufacturing, transportation, installation and operation -.

This assignment of the largest photovoltaic project in South America, in addition to the numerous specialized quality control projects in PV modules and other components – inverters, transformers, trackers, etc. – carried out by Enertis, placing Enertis as a global reference entity on the photovoltaic sector.
