dmg events (Global Energy) and NGV Global have announced a partnership for dmg events’ flagship show: Gastech. The event will be held in Singapore from 27 – 30 October 2015 and provides an ideal forum to discuss the commercial opportunities within the expanding Asian NGV market. The strategic decision to introduce an NGV Zone will showcase the latest technological advances and highlight the increased flexibility achieved by using natural gas for transportation.
Recently published statistics show that half the world’s NGVs and stations are in Asia, with growth in both cases averaging 20% per annum. A recent report from Navigant Research has predicted that by 2022, medium and heavy duty vehicles (MHDVs) powered by natural/methane gas could reach 3.7 million units (compared with 2.09 million in December 2013). Furthermore, 76.2% of the market for buses and trucks will be in Asia.
With over 50,000 square metres of exhibition space and 20,000 visitors and decision-makers expected from across the whole natural gas value chain, Gastech will bring together an audience eager to learn about NGV. The Designated Zone and Presentations Theatre will house NGV Centres of Technical Excellence (CoTEs). These free-to-attend seminars are dedicated to disseminating knowledge and raising awareness regarding technological developments and applications and will offer exclusive content by experts from NGV Global and specialist collaborators with Gastech. They will showcase the latest practical implications of NGV technology as well as its commercial opportunities and are complemented by areas dedicated to networking to promote dialogue.
When announcing the partnership, Matthew Meredith, Executive Vice President, dmg events (Global Energy) stated “I look forward to working closely with NGV Global over the coming year and beyond to develop an NGV Zone and programme that reflects all that is good in the industry and with Gastech taking place in Singapore, in a market with growth potential, we are sure that all the key buyers of NGV goods and services will attend.”
As NGV Global Executive Director Diego Goldin explains “NGV Global is pleased to organise the NGV Zone at Gastech 2015, the first time a specific and dedicated area has been set aside for NGV at this event. The use of natural gas in transport is growing at global level, and in Asia the growth has been remarkable. The NGV zone at Gastech will provide an excellent showcase for the industry, providing huge business opportunities. The CoTE will also offer training sessions and seminars that will help expand technical and commercial knowledge regarding the NGV industry.”
