OHL Industrial and the engineering and SENER have come together as a consortium to sign a turnkey contract with CYDSA for the construction of a CHP plant in Mexico. It will be the second CHP plant that the consortium provides for this major Mexican business group, the same two companies having been awarded the construction contract for a similar plant as a consortium in 2012. This earlier plant was also a turnkey project, and the agreement was later extended to provide the facility with operation and maintenance services.
The new CHP plant will have a 60 MW capacity and will also be situated in the same precinct, in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. It will include a Rolls-Royce Trent 60 aeroderivative gas turbine and an HRSG to produce 65 t/h of steam. The execution period for the contract is thirteen months and the consortium estimates the creation of around 700 jobs during its construction phase.
