On 18 March, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) launched the “Guide to Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings”, developed in collaboration with the Cepel, the Electric Energy Research Centre.
The publication, comprising more than 300 pages, covers the main measures that have to be adopted in standard energy efficiency refurbishment projects for public buildings: the Energy diagnostic; Basic Design Preparation; Detailed Design Preparation; Works Execution; and the supervision and follow up of the results. In addition, the Guide can be applied to commercial buildings and private services.
The guide is divided into three parts with one annex. Parts I and II are designed for managers responsible for constructing the maintenance area of each building, in which they are also in charge of managing the use of electricity. Part III is geared towards those responsible for preparing the tender conditions to contract the services necessary for the building’s energy efficiency.
