Cyes is to construct quays and breakwaters capable of producing electricity

Cyes has obtained financial support from European sources through the EEA GRANTS scheme to run their R&D ARPA PORTS project, which will construct quays and harbour breakwaters that produce their own electricity.
The new project, run in collaboration with the Valencian company, Iberport, aims to provide technology to produce electricity from strong waves.
The call for these EEA GRANTS in Spain has been coordinated by the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI in its Spanish acronym) with funds from three donor states including Norway as the leading investor.
So, implementation of the project will involve the collaboration of two Norwegian companies: Pelagic Power AS, to develop the eccentric shaft cylindrical wave energy converter; and Waveenegy AS, to develop the overflow system.
