DF has signed a contract with the Peruvian company Enersur, a subsidiary of GDF Suez, for the turnkey execution of a natural gas power station to the south of Lima. The installed power of the station will amount to 110 MW. The execution period is 2 years and the contract price is over 111 million dollars, equivalent to 87 million Euros.
The purpose of the project is to extend the power of the complex that Enersur owns in Chilca (in the province of Cañete), 65 kilometres south of the capital of Peru, and which currently consists of the Chilca Uno power station. The Spanish company took an active part in the construction thereof eight years ago. There will be a new combined cycle station, christened as Chilca Plus, which will have a General Electric gas turbine, a steam turbine, a recovery boiler and an air-condenser.
The scope of the work to be undertaken by DF includes engineering, supply, civil work, electromechanical assembly and commissioning. The simple cycle (just the gas turbine) will come into service in the first half of 2016 and the combined cycle (incorporating the steam turbine) in the second half of the same year.
By signing this contract, DF has reinforced its business in the area of Energy this is the 53rd project undertaken in diverse countries in Europe, Latin America and Africa, with an installed power of almost 21,400 MW. In addition to the new power station to be built in Peru, the company is currently building others in Venezuela, Argentina, the United Kingdom and Algeria, over 4,000 MW in total. DF also increases its presence in Peru, where the company is executing various projects in Oil & Gas; more specifically, crude oil storage facilities for Petroperú.
