
The construction companies responsible for the building of the sewerage and wastewater treatment infrastructures in the Spanish cities of Ciudad Real and Almendralejo entrusted Dresser-Rand with the supply of the cogeneration equipment to be fired by the biogas produced in the sludge bio-digestion process. Dresser-Rand supplied the gen-sets for the two plants as well as the peripheral equipment for the heat recovery generated in the engines to enable it to be used in the treatment process. The equipment supplied included a 264-kWe Guascor FGLD180 engine for the WWTP in Ciudad Real and a 502-kWe Guascor HGM240 engine for the Almendralejo WWTP.
