Elecnor is awarded an additional 80.5 MW of wind power in Brazil

Elecnor, through its wind-power subsidiary Enerfin, has won the contract to supply an additional 80.5 MW of wind power in Brazil. The company is already contracted to supply over 482 MW of power in the state of Rio Grande do Sul; facilities providing 300 MW are already in operation and the remainder are at various stages of construction and development. With this new contract, Elecnor will supply a total of 564 MW of power, cementing its position as one of the industry leaders in Brazil.
The project was awarded to Elecnor as part of the Alternative Sources tender process organised by the Brazilian government. It is to be completed within the next three years, and facilities will be distributed amongst four wind farms in Rio Grande do Sul: namely, Vargas 2 (18.4 MW), Vargas 3 (16.1 MW), Cabo Verde 4 (29.9 MW) and Cabo Verde 5 (16,1 MW).
Significantly, Enerfin is the only Spanish company to have been awarded a contract in this tender process.
