Gamesa has renewed the contract with the company Società Energie Rinnovabili (SER), the JV between API and Iberdrola, to provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for 244,65 MW, which correspond to the whole wind fleet that SER operates in Italy.
The company will perform O&M services on 231 Gamesa wind turbines (189 G52-850 kW, 33 G87-2.0 MW y 9 G80-2.0 MW) located in 11 wind farms of Italy for a period of four years and a half, with an option to extend the deal for further two years.
O&M services, key to the company’s growth
This contract strengthens Gamesa’s presence in the operation and maintenance services business, a key area for the company’s growth thanks to its recurring revenue, high profitability and cash flow generation. In addition, O&M is a vital tool for value creation in the development, availability and profitability of a wind farm, with the aim of lowering cost of energy (CoE).Gamesa’s full-service approach in the industrial wind energy sector is rounded out by its O&M services business: a division managed by an international team which maintains more than 20,000 MW for over 200 customers across the globe.
