The tenth edition of the study, the “Macroeconomic Impact of Renewable Energies in Spain”, has recently been presented by APPA, the Spanish Renewable Energy Association. In 2017, the sector contributed €9.304bn to domestic GDP, bringing €1.089bn in net taxation and establishing a new record for exports (€4.564bn), which achieved a trade balance for the renewable sector of +€3.117bn. The savings produced in the electricity market (€2.584bn) were abnormally low due to market behaviour and lower than the received regulated remuneration (€5.674bn). The sector generated 78,667 jobs and produced savings in energy imports of €6.951bn
