THE NEW RANGE OF TIGER PRO MODULES FROM JINKOSOLAR: THE PERFECT COMBINATION FOR COST REDUCTION
JinkoSolar has recently launched its 2020 flagship module series, the Tiger PRO series, which includes the 72-TR and 78- TR versions, also with bifacial options, designed for the utility-scale market, as well as the 60-TR version, specific to the distributed generation market.
The global PV market is rapidly moving towards high-performance modules to reduce system costs and initial upfront capital investment, given the need to reduce the LCOE to the minimum in the era of grid parity and post-subsidy support. After a period in which different standards have been introduced to increase module power outputs to above 500 Wp, and approaching 600 Wp, the Tiger PRO from Jinko solar has set a new standard.
This implies taking into account the challenges related to the development of a new product, such as increased wafer and module sizes, the related weight and the choice of dual-glass and glass/transparent backsheets for the bifacial modules. It is also extremely important to pay attention to compatibility with fixed and tracker mounting systems, as well as to PV string and central inverters.
Tiger PRO is the perfect combination for lowering the CAPEX of the PV system, minimising the BOS cost, such as the mounting system (fixed or single-axis) and the cabling due to the lower VOC (open-circuit voltage) of the modules, which reduces installation times. Energy yield is increased thanks to Tiling Ribbon (TR) technology, reducing the land needed due to the modules’ higher efficiency. Moreover, in the case of the bifacial version with its transparent backsheet, Tiger PRO is 10% lighter than its dual-glass counterpart as well as requiring less maintenance thanks to the anti-stain and hydrophobic features of its Tedlar® protective film.
