CHP demands a plan which the country’s manufacturing industry can rely on for their competitivity

At the Annual Assembly of the Spanish Cogeneration Association, ACOGEN, its Chair José Manuel Collados stated: “industry cannot be ignored in energy policy, because the competitivity of a thousand Spanish industries which manufacture their products using CHP depend to a large degree on their energy costs; these are manufacturing industries which export, generate wealth and support jobs, which must be considered when developing the electricity reform. Industry is the real economy; you must keep that top of mind”.
The Managing Director, Javier Rodríguez, reiterated this idea, pointing out that “Acogen expects the developments of the reform to restore the future of CHP and succeed in turning round the borderline situation in which many industries in strategic sectors find themselves”.
