Latin America wakes up to the development and opportunities of e-mobility

The Latin American and Caribbean region is starting to feel the pace of electric mobility and although at a quantitative level, is experiencing the same as the Spanish market, in other words, continued growth, albeit with figures that are still unrepresentative of the overall vehicle stock, it is true that the outlook for the coming decades is very promising. As the UN Environment’s Electric Mobility Regional Report 2018 indicates that the region’s vehicle fleet could triple over the next 25 years, with the transport sector being the primary consumer of fossil fuels in the region and as a result, the main source of air pollution in cities that have some of the highest levels of urbanisation in the world, governments must work towards changing the paradigm… By Arturo Pérez de Lucia.
