BMW i is automotive giant BMW’s response to the new demands for mobility, especially in urban areas, here demographic growth is testing new challenges as regards emissions reduction and where increased traffic is giving rise to strict limitations. Good examples of these are initiatives in London (Congestion Charge), New York (Clean Pass) and Shanghai (Temporary Free Zone).
BMW is supporting sustainable development and mobility with its new BMW i range that includes the new BMW i3 and BMW i8 products, two electric vehicles that perfectly respond to the current demands for mobility, a shortage of car parks, short distance journeys, low emissions, flexibility and interconnectivity.
BMW launched the BMW i3 on to the market in 2013, the first purely EV from the BMW Group for mass production, conceived from the outset for fully electric and, as such, emission free driving. A logical and at the same time attractive solution for overcoming the future challenges facing individual mobility in urban areas with a high level of demographic density.
