Correos has added to its fleet 100 electric scooters Scutum S02, manufactured by Scutum, which will be added to all new sustainable vehicles of the postal company.
The delivery ceremony of the Scutum motorcycles was held this morning at the Campus Repsol of Madrid, with the participation of its President, Antonio Brufau, who opened the meeting, with the President of Correos , Javier Cuesta; Scutum CEO, Carlos Sotelo; the Director General of Caixa Capital Risc, Carlos Trenchs; President of the CDTI, Maria Luisa Poncela, and the CEO of TAC, Jorge Magaña.
The S02 model Scutum, company owned by Repsol, “la Caixa” through Caixa Capital Risc, and the CDTI, meets all the needs of postal staff. It reaches a speed of 80 km/h and supports up to 175 kg of cargo, with a range of 100 kilometers. It features LED lighting, reverse function and 3 different driving modes: City, Sport and Eco, which saves 500 euros more than 10,000 kiómetros.
Correos has managed to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 30% in recent years. With this incorporation of sustainable vehicles, the company goes one step further in its process of renewal and expansion of its fleet of electric vehicles, achieving a considerable reduction in emissions, commitment shared with Scutum.
“Continuing the commitment to sustainability of the postal company which I chair, we have taken the renewal of the fleet, to launch a new project under the Action Plan 100-300-1.500 to manage the electric vehicle as a whole” said Javier Cuesta, President of Correos , who supports the initiatives of companies, organizations and citizens to promote the transition to a low carbon economy.
Correos fleet currently consists of more than 12,600 vehicles, of which about 9,000 are motorcycles, which cover more than 60 million kilometers per year to distribute 3,600 million shipments annually, approximately.

Manufactured entirely in Spain, Scutum S02 scooter have been specially designed for the city and to facilitate the day-to-day work.
Scutum scooters offer high customization possibilities. The electric scooters incorporated by the POST OFFICE, added to the standard model, a hand brake and the entity’s box. The design of the fairing is in corporate yellow with company logo and side green, highlighting their sustainable quality.
The 100 Scutum will be divided in different post offices in different parts of the country: 25 in Madrid, 25 in Barcelona, 15 in Valencia, 12 in Málaga, 8 in Zaragoza, 8 in Sevilla and 7 in Vizcaya.
