SENER – AFCONS sign EPC contract for LNG project construction in India

The joint venture of SENER and AFCONS has recently signed an EPC contract with H-Energy Gateway Private limited (HEGPL), a Hiranandani Group Company, for turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of its licufied natural gas (LNG) storage and re-gasification project in Jaigad, Maharashtra. The capacity of the plant is 8 million tons per annum (MTPA) and facility construction is set to commence from mid this year.

The Joint Venture (JV), AFCONS – SENER LNG Construction Projects PVT LTD, a 49-51% partnership between the two companies, will be responsible for design, engineering, procurement, project management, construction, testing and commissioning for this LNG terminal. SENER will carry out complete design and engineering for this project on behalf of the JV and support the JV with its Global expertise in procurement, construction, project management and commissioning.

Through this project, SENER will be bringing home the technology in a true sense, making use of the know-how adquired with references in LNG such as Sagunto in Spain, Gate Terminal in The Netherlands, Dunkirk in France, Zeebrugge in Belgium or the virtual pipeline for YPFB in Bolivia, among others. AFCONS Infrastructure Limited already has a large footprint in LNG sector having built four LNG tanks in India, regasification facility and two LNG jetties.
