The motto chosen for the COP25 of “Time for Action” is not just a slogan; it is a necessity. And there is an increasing amount of information available to us which shows that it is indeed “time for action”. The WHO recently confirmed that the concentration of greenhouse gases (GHG) recorded an all-time high in 2018, the highest in the last three million years, reaching 407.8 ppm. This figure, which outside the field of science does not perhaps mean very much, represents a growth of 43% compared to 1990, a long way from the initially established reduction target of 20%. It is a fact that GHGs are the reason for the indisputable increase in the average temperature of the planet, the disappearance of the glaciers and the continued rise in sea levels. It is clearly time for action, as well as time to establish initiatives that help us achieve the targets set for 2030… By May López. Development Director, ‘Companies for Sustainable Mobility’.
